Summary:
Recent advances in the field of biosensors are presented along with a few significant examples of their applications in the fields of health and environmental monitoring. In particular this paper focuses on two distinct biosensing systems based on potentiometric and gravimetric tranducers, These biosystems are here exemplifield in monitoring the effects of drugs on living cells and the kinetic monitoring of binding in the antigens-antibodies immunoreactions. The results demonstrate the significance and potential importance of these biosensors.
